Golf Courses

Ko’olau Golf Club, Oahu
Dornbush & Co., Ltd. was retained as the exclusive broker for the Owner, First Presbyterian Church of Honolulu to find a Lessee to operate the golf course.  YHB Hospitality signed a long term lease for the property in January 2017 and plans invest significant capital to improve the golf course.  YHB will also operate the restaurant, Honey’s at Ko’olau Golf Club.

Royal Hawaiian Golf Club, Oahu
Dornbush & Co., Ltd. served as a exclusive broker for the Seller, Pacific Links Hawaii to market their leasehold interest in the property.  YHB Hospitality acquired the property in August 2016 and plans to enhance the golf course conditions and re-open the restaurant and banquet operations in the clubhouse.

Hoakalei Country Club, OahuHoakalei CC
Dornbush & Co., Ltd. was retained as the exclusive broker by Haseko (Ewa), Inc. to market the Hoakalei Country Club.  Designed by Professional Golfer, Ernie Els, Hoakalei Country Club is the newest course on the Island of Oahu.  The prestigious membership course was sold to a Japanese  Corporation in December 2014.  The new owner plans to build the permanent clubhouse and enhance membership operations.

Pukalani Country Club, MauiPukalani CC
Dornbush & Co., Ltd. served as the exclusive broker for the seller to market the Pukalani Country Club located in up-country Maui. Pukalani Country Club is a modest course that enjoys nice views and a cool climate while being popular with both locals and visitors.  The fee simple property was sold to a Japanese Investor in August 2014.

Olomana Golf Course, OahuOlomana 2
Dornbush & Co., Ltd. served as the exclusive broker for Olomana Golf Links, Inc. The property received a lot of interest from numerous foreign and local buyers. The leasehold property was sold to Pacific Links Hawaii in May 2012. Pacific Links Hawaii plans to enhance the golf course conditions and renovate the clubhouse to improve the Property.

Kapolei Golf Course, Oahu
Dornbush & Co., Ltd. was retained as the exclusive broker for the Japanese Owner of Kapolei Golf Course located in West Oahu. With an asking price of $42 Million, Dornbush & Co., Ltd. attracted several bonafide offers from multiple international buyers. The sale closed in September 2010 to Pacific Links, an International Buyer based in Toronto, Canada.

Waikele Golf Course, Oahu
Dornbush & Co., Ltd. was retained by JMB/Amfac out of Chicago to market their Waikele Golf Course located in West Oahu. Dornbush & Co., Ltd. attracted several bonafide offers from international buyers. The $23 Million sale closed in November 2008 to a South Korean Buyer.

Mililani Golf Club, Oahu
Dornbush & Co., Ltd. served as the exclusive broker to the seller to market the Mililani Golf Club. The sale closed in October 2009 to a Korean Investment Company based in Los Angeles. The new owner plans to renovate and upgrade the property.

Luana Hills Country Club, Oahu
Dornbush & Co., Ltd. provided brokerage services for the buyer on its acquisition of the Dye Design golf course in 2000. From January 2001 through February 2011, members of our firm provided operational and advisory services for golf course operations.

Ewa Beach International Golf Course, Oahu
Members of our firm partnered with Herbert K. Horita and Sogo Hawaii to successfully develop and open the Ewa Beach International Golf Course in 1992. The owner sold over 800 memberships in Japan during the late 1980’s prior to completion and marks one of the most successful golf course developments on Oahu. The Robin Nelson designed course has received high praise for its Championship layout.

Mauna Kea Beach Golf Course, Hawaii
Members of our firm provided consulting services to Laurance Rockefeller in the late 1970’s for the Mauna Kea Beach Golf Course and other Mauna Kea Resort Holdings.

Makaha Resort Golf Club, Oahu
Dornbush & Co., Ltd. served as Real Estate Broker for the Canadian Owner in the sale of the Makaha Resort Golf Club (Makaha West Golf Course). The property included over 254 Acres of land. The sale closed in April 2011 to an International Buyer based in Toronto, Canada. The new Owner has hired Greg Norman to redesign the course.

Royal Hawaiian Golf Club, Oahu
Dornbush & Co., Ltd. served as a Facilitator for the Lessor and Lessee to conclude a long term lease on the former Luana Hills Country Club Property. The new Lessee took over operations in March 2011 and has changed the name to Royal Hawaiian Country Club. The new Lessee, Pacific Links, plans to enhance the golf course conditions and clubhouse facilities.

Dornbush & Co., Ltd. and its principals have also provided various services and performed a variety of roles on numerous golf courses throughout the State of Hawaii including; Luana Hills Country Club, Makaha Resort Golf Club, Makaha Valley Country Club, Koolau Golf Course, Ko Olina Golf Course, Kaanapali Resort, The Dunes at Maui Lani, Waimea Country Club, Makalei Golf Club, Volcano Golf & Country Club and others.

Hotels

Polynesian Plaza FrontPolynesian Plaza Hotel, Waikiki, Oahu
Dornbush & Co., Ltd. represented the Buyer to acquire the Polynesian Plaza Hotel in September 2015 for below the $11 Million asking price. The Leasehold Property includes 56 rooms located along world famous Kalakaua Avenue. The Buyer plans to renovate and reposition the property as a boutique hotel.

Ewa Hotel WaikikiEwa Hotel Waikiki, Waikiki, Oahu
Dornbush & Co., Ltd. assisted the Buyer to acquire the Ewa Hotel Waikiki in March 2012 for $4.9 Million. The Leasehold Property includes 92 rooms located within two blocks of world famous Waikiki Beach. The Buyer engaged Aqua Resorts & Hotels to manage the property.

QK HotelQueen Kapiolani Hotel, Waikiki, Oahu
Dornbush & Co., Ltd. assisted the seller to market the Queen Kapiolani Hotel in 2009. The 315-room hotel enjoys dramatic Diamond Head and Ocean views. The new owner plans to renovate and reposition the property.

Kauai Sands HotelKauai Sands Hotel, Kapaa, Kauai
Dornbush & Co., Ltd. assisted the seller in successfully marketing the Kauai Sands Hotel for $15 Million in late 2006. The buyer planned to convert the 200-room beachfront hotel into timeshare units.

Embassy Suites - KaanapaliEmbassy Suites Resort, Kaanapali, Maui
Members of our firm served with the General Partner to the Japanese ownership group who acquired the hotel in the early 1990s. The 413 room all Suite hotel was purchased for over $100 Million and subsequently converted and marketed as a timeshare destination. This project is now recognized as a major success in the timeshare industry in the State of Hawaii.

Waikikian LagoonThe Waikikian Hotel, Waikiki, Oahu
Members of our firm assisted the seller, Mr. Harry Weinberg to sell the hotel and additional land at a price of $56 Million to Japanese investors in 1988. The lagoon-front site of the former Waikikian Hotel is now home to The Grand Waikikian, a Hilton Grand Vacations Club timeshare property.

Dornbush & Co., Ltd. and its principals have also provided various services and performed a variety of roles on numerous hotels and resorts throughout the State of Hawaii including; Ko Olina Resort, Makaha Resort & Golf Club, Waikiki Parc Hotel, Mauna Lani Resort, Kona Seaside Hotel and others.

 

Land

Kapolei West, Oahu
Dornbush & Co., Ltd. served as real estate broker / facilitator in the sale of a 500+ Acre parcel of land located between Ko’olina Resort and the town of Kapolei.  The development land was acquired by China Oceanwide Holdings in October 2016.  China Oceanwide Holdings plans to develop an 18-hole golf course and approx. 2,000 residential units, in conjunction with two major resort parcels they acquired within the adjacent Ko’olina Resort.

Makaha Resort Parcel, Oahu
Dornbush & Co., Ltd. served as real estate broker to the Buyer of a 26+ Acre parcel of land zoned resort.  The property included 18 parcels within the gated community known as Mauna Olu Estates. The Buyer is an affiliate of Stanford Carr Development and plans to build single family homes on the land.  The transaction closed in August 2016.
